Nuclear Medicine Technologist MRT(N) Full Time, Part Time and Casual Positions Available
Kawartha Diagnostic Imaging (KDI), located within the Kawartha Cardiology Clinic (KCC) in Peterborough Ontario, is seeking dedicated and skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologists to join our healthcare team.
In this role, you will be responsible for performing nuclear cardiology imaging procedures using radiopharmaceuticals to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
Duties:
- utilize safe practice in handling and administration of radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with CNSC guidelines
- perform angiocath insertion and intravenous injections
- prepare and assist patients for Gamma camera procedures
- collaborate with stress team to perform nuclear cardiology testing (both exercise and pharmacological)
- prepare and assist patients in resting MUGA
- perform ECG gating
- opportunity to serve as alternate Radiation Safety Office (RSO)
- using radiation monitoring equipment and perform contamination monitoring and decontamination as required
- Prepare and maintain records of procedures, including patient history and imaging results.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to interpret imaging results.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations regarding the use of radioactive materials.
- Educate patients about procedures, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
Qualifications:
- Current registration (in good standing) with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) in nuclear medicine as an MRT(N)
- Current membership (in good standing) with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) or the Ontario Association of Medical Radiation Sciences (OAMRS)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to nuclear cardiology
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are essential for managing patient records and imaging data.

Registered Cardiovascular Technologist – Holter Department- Full and Part Time Availability
The Kawartha Cardiology Clinic (KCC) is seeking a skilled and passionate Cardiovascular Technologist to join our healthcare team! The successful candidate will play a key role in the analysis and interpretation of Holter Monitor data, ensuring timely and accurate reporting for optimal patient care. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative clinical environment. ***Remote scanning not available***
Responsibilities:
- Analyze and interpret preliminary Holter and blood pressure monitor reports using advanced scanning software
- Prepares detailed reports for cardiologist interpretation
- Ensure accuracy in data analysis
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses and other clinical staff to ensure continuity of care
- Adhere to clinical protocols and regulatory standards
- Apply Holter and blood pressure monitors to patients.
- Patient education
- Cleaning, maintaining and calibrating equipment as needed
- Report to the Ambulatory Monitoring Team Lead and Cardiologists as required.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Current registration with OSCT
- Demonstrated knowledge of advanced ECG Interpretation.
- Ability to perform and interpret patient’s vital signs
- Knowledge of cardiac medications
- Ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with patients.
- Work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent time management skills

Echosonography Full Time, Part Time and Casual Positions
The Kawartha Cardiology Clinic is seeking a skilled and compassionate echosonographer to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing high quality transthoracic echocardiograms to provide accurate information to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients in a fast-paced clinical environment. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians and medical staff.
Responsibilities
- Perform echocardiograms and other ultrasound procedures to assess cardiac function and structure.
- collaborate with stress team to perform stress echocardiology testing (both exercise and pharmacological)
- Prepare and maintain records of procedures, including patient history and imaging results.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to interpret imaging results.
- Educate patients about procedures, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
- Maintain equipment and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited recognized post diploma program or equivalent
- Registered as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with CMRITO.
- Certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Sonography Canada (CARDUP)
- Proof of Professional Liability Insurance
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to echosonography.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, caregivers and staff
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills for image evaluation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
- IV insertion an asset

KCC is a busy, progressive, fully accredited facility with 8 cardiologists and 80 clinical and support staff that offers specialized programs in cardiology, vascular, stroke and diabetes care to a large geographic region. We perform transthoracic echocardiograms, exercise and Dobutamine stress echocardiograms, paediatric echocardiograms, and transesophageal echocardiograms. The clinic is outside the Peterborough hospital and works collaboratively with the hospital to provide diagnostic services to in-patients.
