Stress (RN, RPN, CVT)
Kawartha Cardiology Clinic (KCC) in Peterborough, Ontario is looking for an exceptional individual to join our team who shares our passion to deliver excellent patient-focused care. KCC is a busy, progressive, fully accredited, state-of-the-art facility serving a large geographic population. There are 7 Cardiologists and over 80 clinical and support staff at KCC. The clinic is outside the Peterborough hospital and works collaboratively with the hospital to provide diagnostic services. Our facility offers an extensive range of services including specialized programs in vascular, stroke, diabetes and cardiac care.
This is a full-time position for Registered Nurses, Registered Practical Nurses or Cardiovascular Technologists who have acute care, cardiology/telemetry or previous stress testing experience to work in our diagnostic Stress Testing labs!
Role Summary:
- Monitor, analyze and interpret ECGs
- Assess, and treat patient symptoms (ex: chest pain, BP changes)
- Performance of exercise, pharmacological and nuclear stress testing
- Completion of preliminary reports for Cardiologist interpretation
- Experience with IV insertion and IV medication administration an asset
- Monitor supplies & replenish stock as needed
- Other tasks as assigned
- Report to the Stress Team Lead, Clinical Coordinator and Cardiologists as required
Qualifications:
- For RNs and RPNs: Current registration with the College of Nurses (CNO)
- Current member of Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO), Registered Practical Nurses Association (RPNAO)
- For CTVs: Current Membership with Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT) and/or registration with Ontario Society if Cardiology Technologists (OSCT)
- Basic Life Support (CPR); current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) an asset
- Excellent knowledge of ECG interpretation and arrhythmia interpretation
- Knowledge of cardiac medications
- Ability to work independently and as part of multidisciplinary team
- Must be able to work effectively with other team members, patients, and family members.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to operate and properly maintain all equipment
- Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize a busy workload in a high-volume area.
- Reliable, consistent attendance is a requirement.

Holter & Blood Pressure Monitor Hook-up Technician
The Kawartha Cardiology Clinic (KCC) is a busy, progressive clinic with 7 Cardiologists and over 100 clinical and support staff, serving a large geographical population. Our facility offers an extensive range of services and programs that specialize in vascular, stroke, diabetes and cardiac care.
We are looking for an exceptional individual to join our Ambulatory Monitoring Department as a Holter and Blood Pressure Monitor Hook-Up Technician! This is a full time, permanent position, on site at the Kawartha Cardiology Clinic, located at 327 Charlotte St, Peterborough Ontario.
Qualifications:
- PSW or Experienced Healthcare Profession
- Ability to perform and interpret patient’s vital signs (Heart rate, blood pressures etc)
- Knowledge of cardiac medications is an asset
- Basic Life Support (CPR) is an asset
- Ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with patients
- Demonstrated time management skills
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated computer proficiency
Role Summary:
- Applying holter and blood pressure monitors to patients
- Patient education
- Cleaning/Disinfecting/Maintaining equipment.
- Clerical duties
- Contacting patients on the phone.

Full-Time Permanent Registered Cardiovascular Technologist – Holter Department
Kawartha Cardiology Clinic (KCC) in Peterborough ON is a busy, progressive facility with 8 Cardiologists and over 100 clinical and support staff, serving a large geographical population. Our facility offers an extensive range of services including specialized programs in vascular, stroke, diabetes and cardiac care.
This is a full time permanent position for a Registered Cardiovascular Technologist to join the Ambulatory Monitoring Department.
Monday to Friday- 8am to 430pm.
Role Summary:
- Scan and create preliminary holter and blood pressure monitor reports for Cardiologist Interpretation.
- Apply holter and blood pressure monitors to patients.
- Patient education
- Cleaning/Disinfecting/Maintaining equipment.
- PRHC In-Pt holter hook up (reliable personal transportation needed)
- Report to the Ambulatory Monitoring Team Lead and Cardiologists as required.
- Other tasks as assigned.

The successful applicant must be able to perform high quality transthoracic echocardiograms to assess the cardiac structure and function of the heart. They must be able to provide accurate information to assist the physician with the diagnosis and treatment of patients in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Qualification and Relevant Experience:
- Completion of a recognized post diploma echocardiography program or recognized equivalent.
- Registered as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with CMRITO.
- Proof of Professional Liability Insurance
- Registration with the American Registry of Medical Diagnostic Sonographers (ARMDS) or Sonography Canada (CARDUP)
- New grads welcome!
- Transesophageal Echo, Paediatric Echo and/or Stress Echo experience would be an asset.
- Must have excellent problem-solving skills.
